Booking Terms and Conditions

The Conditions below apply in respect of online live workshops and coaching, and include all work carried out by Excel at Work Limited for the client (that’s you or your organisation), except to the extent that Excel at Work otherwise agrees with you in writing.

To view our Terms of Use for our online self-driven courses, please visit https://www.excelatwork.co.nz/website-terms-of-use/.

  1. Fees
Our fees are calculated based on the predetermined duration allocated for providing training services, irrespective of any interruptions or breaks initiated by either the client or the participants. To maximise the efficacy and value of the training session, you are advised to minimise disruptions and ensure thorough preparation before its commencement.
  2. Expenses
In the course of delivering services, Excel at Work may incur certain expenses payable to third parties on behalf of the client. Clients will be duly informed of such prospective expenses at the time of engaging our services. These expenses, once incurred, will be itemised and reflected in the subsequent invoice issued to the client.
  3. Reservations
Reservations placed through our website or facilitated by our personnel constitute an initial booking stage and do not represent a definitive Booking Confirmation. To efficiently manage our scheduling and accommodate all clients, we will maintain these reservations for a period of three (3) days from the date of reservation. During this period, our representatives will contact you to obtain the information needed to finalise your booking. If communication is not established and the booking process remains incomplete within this three-day timeframe, the provisional reservation shall be deemed null and void.
  4. Cancellation and transfer by you
    a. Cancellation or Rescheduling Policy:
Clients are entitled to cancel or reschedule their booking without incurring an administrative fee, provided that Excel at Work is notified more than 14 days before the scheduled course date. If the invoice has been settled and cancellation occurs under these conditions, we will issue a refund, less any applicable bank or credit card processing fees charged by our payment provider.

    b. Late Cancellation or Postponement Fees:
We know plans change. If you need to move your booking, just contact us — we’re usually happy to reschedule to another date at no charge. However, where a change is made close to the course date, or where a booking is rescheduled or cancelled repeatedly, we lose time and income that was reserved for you. In those cases Excel at Work reserves the right, at its discretion, to charge: for a cancellation or postponement 14 or fewer days before the course date: $500 + GST or 50% of the course fee, whichever is lesser; for a cancellation or postponement on the day of the course: $500 + GST or 100% of the course fee, whichever is lesser.

    c. Participant Number Adjustment:
Should there be a change in the number of participants on the day of the training, the invoice will be adjusted accordingly. Please be aware that this may impact the originally quoted price, as rates may vary based on the number of participants booked.

    d. Policy on No Shows and Premature Departure:
The full course fee will be charged for the total number of booked attendees initially, regardless of non-attendance or early departure from the training session. In cases where an attendee is unable to participate, it is recommended to arrange a substitute. Excel at Work should be promptly notified of any attendee substitutions to facilitate access and preparation for the replacement participant.

    e. Minimum Enrolment Fees:
Many of our courses are governed by minimum enrolment fees, as detailed on our Pricing page. Consequently, a minimum fee will be charged for these courses, regardless of the actual number of attendees present at the session.
  5. Cancellation/postponement of courses by Excel at Work
Excel at Work reserves the right to cancel or postpone a course due to unforeseen circumstances beyond our control. In the event of a postponement, clients will have their session rescheduled to an alternative date and time at no additional cost. If a course is cancelled and the client has already made a payment (either whole or a deposit), a full refund will be provided.
  6. Refunds
Refunds must be requested by the individual or organisation that originally booked and paid for the training. Any refund will be credited exclusively to the original payment method, whether a credit card or a bank account. Please note that participants in courses for which a refund is issued are not eligible for our post-training support services.
  7. Payment Terms
Invoices are issued at the time of booking. Typically, training fees are expected to be paid before the delivery of training, as per prior agreements. In certain instances, we may issue two separate invoices: the first for a deposit, and the second for the remaining balance. This deposit is governed by clauses 3 and 4 of our terms. To secure your booking, we require the deposit to be paid at least 7 working days before the scheduled session. Upon receipt of the deposit, your booking is confirmed. The remaining balance will be invoiced to you after the training session.
  8. Recording of training
Our training sessions may not be recorded by any device unless Excel at Work has given approval in advance. Please ask us first — where we’ve agreed to it, recording is fine; without our prior approval, it is not permitted.
  9. Disclaimer and limitation of liability
In the event of a course attendee (“learner”) choosing to access actual working files (“live data”), instead of using Excel at Work’s exercise files, during the course of the training, they do so at their own risk. While Excel at Work will take every care to ensure learners avoid loss of data, under no circumstances and under no legal theory (tort, contract or otherwise) shall Excel at Work or any of its affiliates, agents, employees, shareholders, directors, officers, third party content providers, successors or assignees be liable to the client or any other person or entity for any indirect, special, incidental, punitive or consequential damages of any character, including without limitation, damages for loss of goodwill, work stoppage, computer failure or malfunction, loss of data, loss of productivity or contract, or any other commercial damages or losses. Use of live data is at the Learner’s sole risk, and any content used during training is at the Learner’s discretion and risk. The client is solely responsible for any damage to any computer system and for any loss of data resulting from the Learner’s actions. In no event will Excel at Work be liable for any damages, even if Excel at Work shall have been informed of the possibility of such damages or for any claim by any other party. In no event will warranties provided by law, if any, apply unless they are required to apply by statute, notwithstanding their exclusion by contract.
